Jim Squiciari

Art Director / Set Designer

I guess I started developing my craft at a very young age, spending a lot of time sketching buildings and characters when I should have been following along in class.

After graduating from college with a degree in photography, I worked in commercial / advertising photo studios while I refined my eye for film and lighting. I started experimenting in motion, which lead to my interest video and film.

Next thing I know, I'm working for a video production company. The only problem was I ended up spending up more time building and repairing things around the studio than working behind the camera or in the editing suite. One day the production manager asked me to build a small set for a commercial they were shooting - from that point on things changed.

I started designing and constructing sets and props for all kinds of productions, everything from commercials and films to reality series and print ads. Over the years I have successfully managed both small and large art crews. The key to my success has been my ability to create stunning sets while staying within budget.
